Project WOMEX aims to improve business culture in EU regions through the promotion of gender equality in export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The focus is on overcoming the chronic barriers women face in accessing the benefits of international trade.
Seven partners from different regions, including Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREY Belgrade), joined forces to advance public policies and business strategies through the exchange of good practices and the development of support tools through a stronger gender perspective.
The activities of the WOMEX project include the creation of a catalog of services aimed at professional women and women entrepreneurs in export-oriented SMEs — in the areas of financing, digitalization and training — as well as initiatives to advocate for greater gender equality in business.
The project is funded by the Interreg Europe programme, supporting the wider EU objectives of strengthening cohesion, equitable regional development and building a society that is committed to gender equality in international trade.

The second IPLE meeting within the project was held in Warsaw on 24-25 February 2026 WOMEX,which is realized through Interreg Europe programme
Within the framework of the project, the first bulletin was published which provides an overview of previous activities and next steps in improving gender equality in public policies supporting export and international business
Within the framework of the project WOMEX— The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs, on February 2, 2026, a meeting of partners from Serbia — the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade and the Association of Business Women of Serbia was held.
Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade organized on December 17 and 18, 2025 in its premises a two-day free training on the topic of Project Management, intended for employees of the City Administration, city municipalities, as well as institutions and organizations founded by the City of Belgrade.
In the premises of the Association of Business Women of Serbia 29.10.2025. year was held a meeting of partners from Serbia participating in the implementation of the international project WOMEX - The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs. The meeting was attended by representatives of Association of Business Women of Serbia and Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade.
The project WOMEX (The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs) was presented to representatives of the City Administration and City Municipalities of Belgrade at a presentation organized by the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade on October 24, 2025.
