Who we are and what role we play in the development of the region

Regional Development Coordinator of Belgrade

Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade — RAREI was established in 2002 and accredited by the Development Agency of Serbia. Our members are the City of Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Economic Sciences. As an institution based on the Law on Regional Development, RAREI is the coordinator of development in the territory of the City of Belgrade, and as such we are recognized by domestic and international development institutions.

Promoter of development processes and European integration

RAREIis a key carrier of the development processes of the city of Belgrade as a European region, as well as a key carrier of cooperation with relevant international and domestic institutions in the process of European integration. RAREY serves as an independent mover and meeting point for the public, private and civil sectors in the region. RAREA employees have significant experience in managing projects funded by EU, international and domestic donors. This experience involves managing the complete project cycle, from the preparatory phase, through implementation, coordination and monitoring, as well as reporting.

RAREIhas successfully prepared and implemented a large number of projects funded by the EU, international and bilateral donors, as well as national funds, in the areas of regional cooperation, socio-economic development, entrepreneurship, youth education, competitiveness and innovation.

Partnership for Local Development

Support for the development of the Belgrade region

RAREIprovides support to the city administration and other stakeholders in the region (public companies and organizations funded by the City of Belgrade) in the preparation of project proposals and implementation of approved projects. Through education, training and consulting services to stakeholders in the fields of project management, tourism, culture, rural development, green technologies, innovative and sustainable economic development, RAREI develops projects that contribute to the development of the Belgrade region.

RARE GOALS

Objectives

In accordance with the necessity for the continuous sustainable socio-economic development of the Belgrade region, the development of a strong and dynamic economy, modern infrastructure, the creation of new jobs, the creation of a favorable climate for attracting investors, as well as conditions for better and better quality of life, RAREY Belgradeis focused on four basic objectives:

Development of the Belgrade region, in accordance with strategic documents at the national and regional level, as well as with modern trends in the development of European regions

Dynamic and efficient development of the MMSPP sector and agriculture, which are the bearer of the process of new employment and better quality economic structure

Developed and mutually coordinated capacities of the city administration and city municipalities in the territory of the Belgrade region (human, material, program, etc.)

Providing funds for the implementation of key development projects of the Belgrade region from international and domestic sources of financing, in order to support and relax the budget of the city of Belgrade, as well as support the process of European integration.

Our role in connecting the sector

RAREY acts as a bridge between the public, private and civil sectors, creating an environment where collaboration brings concrete results. Through the facilitation of partnerships, the development of joint initiatives and expert support to all stakeholders, we enable regional projects to be sustainable, innovative and in line with European standards. Our role is to pool knowledge, resources and opportunities so that Belgrade and its region have a stable and long-term development direction.
