The Regional Development Agency for Economic Development and European Integration of Belgrade (RAREI Belgrade) continued implementing activities for the project [[nt]]WOMEX – The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs,[[/nt]] which is being carried out through the [[nt]]Interreg Europe[[/nt]] program.
Over the past six months, activities have focused on international cooperation, the exchange of experience and best practices, research into the status of women in export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises, and collaboration with stakeholders to improve public policy instruments.
Representatives of RAREI Belgrade participated in the fourth Interregional Policy Learning Event (IPLE), held on October 21–22 in the Basque Country, Spain. The two-day program showcased European best practices in women's entrepreneurship, leadership, and business internationalization, while facilitating an exchange of experience on how to apply these practices within different regional contexts.
As part of the project, the following was published: National Report for Serbia, which presents the results of research on the status of women in export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises, their representation in leadership positions, and the challenges they face in international business.
The report is available at the following link: National Report for Serbia.
The third regional stakeholder meeting was held on August 26 in Belgrade. The meeting addressed the research findings and explored opportunities to improve existing support instruments for women entrepreneurs.
The WOMEX project was presented to students and researchers from Slovenia on June 4 during their study visit to RAREI Belgrade, and on June 24 to participants of the "Export for First-Time Exporters" training.
Project team members also participated in webinars organized by the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform, as well as a workshop dedicated to strengthening capacity for interregional cooperation, held on September 24 in Belgrade.
A particularly significant activity during this period was the session of the Belgrade City Employment Council, held on October 8, which initiated the process of drafting Belgrade City Employment Program with an action plan for the 2027–2029 period.
This document represents a public policy instrument that RAREI Belgrade is working to improve as part of the [[nt]]WOMEX project. In the coming period, collaboration with project partners and stakeholders will continue, with a focus on exploring how research findings, recommendations, and European best practices can be utilized during the preparation of the new Program.
