The project is implemented within the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme, aiming to reduce light pollution and protect biodiversity and nocturnal habitats in the Adriatic-Ionian area.
The ADRISKY project gathers nine partners from three EU Member States and three IPA countries, with the aim to develop innovative strategies and practical tools for the effective mitigation of light pollution. The project highlights the importance of involving local and regional institutions in the planning and implementation of active policy measures, as the City and municipal administrations play a crucial role in implementation of the policies that contribute to environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.
One of the main results of the project is development of Territorial Action Plans – strategic and technical documents that include specific measures and recommendations for the long-term reduction of light pollution in seven pilot areas. Through their adoption and implementation, local authorities will be able to ensure the effective protection of biodiversity and nocturnal habitats, contribute to sustainable urban development and improve the quality of life for citizens.
The participation of institution of the City of Belgrade in such initiatives represents an important step towards creating a more responsible and environmentally conscious community that actively contributes to the protection of the natural environment and the enhancement of public policies in the field of sustainable development.
