Piloting of the InnoSchool innovative learning program (ILS) in Serbia started on October 1, 2020 and ended at the end of February 2021.
ILS is an entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship learning program that combines traditional classroom teaching methods with an online serious game (InnoSchool game) and thus helps create the next generation of social entrepreneurs and innovators. The attractiveness of this type of learning is reflected in its educational and entertaining character, the gamification of educational content through the game and the integration of announcements of results achieved while playing the game with social networks.
350 students and 26 teachers from 10 Belgrade secondary schools participated in the piloting of ILS, who for the first time applied this tool in teaching and tested its effect on the development and education of students in the domain entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and social innovation.
ILS was piloted as part of regular classes or as an extracurricular activity. In accordance with the previous knowledge, the students chose the basic or advanced level within the game; the game then gradually led them through 5 ie. 6 levels (educational units) and referred to the challenges and needs of modern society, the basics of social entrepreneurship and all segments important for the work of a social enterprise, i.e. creation of a business/business plan of conceived socio-business ideas.
The best student teams from schools that played the game at an advanced level will present their socio-business ideas at an inter-school competition organized by the InooSchool project on March 25, 2021.
With the mutual cooperation and support of the InnoSchool project team, school principals and all teachers who participated in the pilot program, to numerous students the door to acquiring new knowledge and skills in the field of social entrepreneurship was opened, they were enabled to look at society's problems and come up with innovative ideas for solving them, and at the same time an incentive was given to creative thinking and youth entrepreneurial engagement. The project in Serbia is implemented by the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia as an associated strategic partner.
