The WOMEX project aims to improve business culture in EU regions through the promotion of gender equality in export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The focus is on overcoming the chronic obstacles that women face in accessing the benefits of international trade.
Seven partners from different regions, including the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREI Belgrade), joined forces in order to, through the exchange of good practices and the development of support tools, improve public policies and business strategies through a stronger gender perspective.
The activities of the WOMEX project include the creation of a catalog of services intended for professional women and female entrepreneurs in export-oriented SMEs - in the areas of financing, digitization and training - as well as initiatives for advocating greater gender equality in business.
The project is financed by the Interreg Europe program, supporting the EU's broader goals in the area of strengthening cohesion, balanced regional development and building a society that is committed to gender equality in international trade.
