Director of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration (RAREI), Mr. Nikola Vučeljic, participated in the international conference "Regional potentials in the function of the development of Serbia", organized by the National Agency for Regional Development in Sava Center.
- I would like to refer to the results achieved this year, where RAREI broke the record in providing direct services to 800 micro, small and medium enterprises. Also, as an added value, we created and opened Offices for quick responses to the economy three months ago, and today it is a very successful and functional project, which was nominated and awarded the Diskobolos medal for the best web achievement in 2014. - said Vučeljić.
Vučeljić also presented other results achieved by RAREI, among which are the draft strategy for the development of Belgrade 2015-2020, then the provision of funds from the IPA fund for rehabilitation and flood prevention that will be available to the city in the first quarter of 2015, as well as the successfully conducted trainings of the City Administration of the City of Belgrade in the field of managing the project cycle for writing and implementing EU funds.
- Belgrade as the largest regional center of this part of Europe, it should take a leading role in the regional development of our country, bearing in mind its comparative advantages, geostrategic position and institutional capacities. One of the primary tasks of Belgrade, as a region and metropolis, is to increase its international importance and role, through multi-layered cooperation with leading European cities and regions, Vučeljić said.
