Meet the InnoSchool pilot schools: Trade school

The history of the Trade School in Belgrade begins on October 1, 1843, when the then Minister of Education, Jovan Steria Popović, signed the act establishing the Trade School of the Municipality of Belgrade.

Until today, the school maintains its long-acquired reputation and stands out for its good professional staff, quality organization, and following modern trends in teaching and practice. Thanks to the expansion of private trade companies, trade shops and increasingly current trade centers, the school is at the center of interest, so a lot of attention is paid to practical teaching.

The school traditionally cooperates with other institutions and constantly tries to follow modern trade trends, therefore the school organizes seminars where students and teachers can acquire new knowledge. The basis of the school's affinity is the modernization of professional subjects in accordance with advanced practice and scientific and technological discoveries. This is supported by the fact that the school has well-equipped classrooms for trade business classes, a model store where students practically practice working in commerce and conducting practical classes, as well as classrooms for arranging. Since 2007, the school has also introduced pilot programs, classes on the new four-year business major.

In addition to regular classes, there are a large number of extracurricular activities. A creative concept is a goal that is constantly being pursued. The selected professional staff tries to develop creativity in students and to discover their talents and interests, which are approached in the right way. Therefore, the school has over 15 sections where students perfect their creative, educational, cultural and other interests. In addition to suitable conditions and well-equipped classrooms, students are provided with the necessary materials for work, as well as modern teaching aids.

Students are introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial business through regular classes. The school fosters an entrepreneurial culture among students, which prompted interest and application for participation in the piloting of ILS - an innovative social entrepreneurship learning program of the InnoSchool project. The program is managed by teacher Gordana Žebeljan with the support of teacher Uroš Jevremović and director Mira Lekić.
