
The Ivo Lola Ribar school started operating in Železnik in 1948. Built in the immediate vicinity of the industrial complex of the same name, it served the needs of the aforementioned industry, which became known under the abbreviated name "Lola".
Over time, the school changed and adapted to the needs of society, so that since 1993 it has had its current name: Technical School. Its mission is to improve general and technical culture and deepen knowledge and skills in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering.
Today, the school is a modernly equipped and organized institution for secondary professional education. It educates students in the following fields of work: mechanical engineering and metalworking (majors: mechanical technician for computer construction, technician for controlling computer (CNC) machines, locksmith and welder) and electrical engineering (majors: computer electrical technician and repairer of thermal and cooling devices (according to the dual model). It is equipped with modern offices and laboratories where more than 400 students acquire basic knowledge in these areas. More than 40 teachers teach highly skilled theoretical and practical teachers, and thanks to the spatial possibilities, classes are held in one shift. The school has a sports hall, open courts for handball, basketball and volleyball, a ceremonial hall built as an amphitheater and a school library with over 11,000 titles and a reading room. to these and related topics surprising interest and application for participation in the piloting of ILS - an innovative learning program on social entrepreneurship of the project InnoSchool. It is one of the first schools that started piloting the program under the leadership and coordination of Jelena Ćirković, Aleksandra Stanojević and Ivana Mihailović, with the support of director Olivera Babić.
