
Improving employment in Belgrade through an approach based on the specific needs of citizens is the basis of the Action Plan for the employment of the city of Belgrade for 2016.
In order to increase employment, the basic goals of the development of local employment policy in 2016 were set, namely increasing employment and reducing unemployment through the improvement of labor market institutions and access to new markets, mediation in employment and professional orientation, increasing the competence of the workforce through additional education and training, encouraging employment and business through subsidies, as well as support for the development of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Active employment policy measures and other planned program activities to encourage employment, in accordance with the established competences, are carried out by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, the National Employment Service - Branch for the City of Belgrade, the local self-government unit - the City of Belgrade (Secretariat for the Economy and Administration for Agriculture, Secretariat for Finance, Secretariat for Education and Child Protection) and other organizations and institutions in accordance with this document: Youth Office and cooperation with associations, City Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Belgrade, Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade, Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, Directorate for Urban Building Land and Construction of Belgrade, Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia - Belgrade Branch.
In 2016, in accordance with the set priorities and goals, as well as available financial resources, the City of Belgrade decided to finance the following measures and support activities for employment and self-employment:
These measures will support the employment of unemployed persons, namely from the category of difficult-to-employ persons, such as young people under 30 years of age, redundant employees, unemployed over 50 years old, unemployed without qualifications, low-skilled and long-term unemployed, people with disabilities, Roma and family victims violence.
In addition to the above, in 2016, other measures and activities to encourage employment will be implemented by the National Employment Service in accordance with its program orientation and available financial resources, as well as other organizations and institutions in accordance with established competences.
