RAREI visiting the Rome regional agency

Representatives of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration (RAREI) Belgrade met in Rome with the delegation of the Lazio Innova agency (Lazio Innova), which deals with the development of the Lazio region. Agency Lazio Inova aims to manage project activities in order to achieve economic growth, territorial development and innovation support. They also provide incentives through regional, national and European funds and provide various types of support to the SME sector. Vučeljić recalled the exceptional economic cooperation and economic exchange between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Italy and added that Italy is one of the most important investors in the Republic of Serbia. Director Vučeljić introduced the Italian partners to the activities and tasks of RAREI and expressed his wish that in the coming period, through the partnership relationship of the two agencies, they would participate in European projects. In the conversation, the measures implemented by the Government of the Republic of Serbia with the aim of attracting investors and creating a favorable economic environment, as well as the efforts made by the leadership of the city of Belgrade for the purpose of new investments, were particularly emphasized. In that sense, Mr. Vučeljić presented a guide for investors of the city of Belgrade to colleagues from the Italian agency.

Ms. Banjolini presented the activities of the Lazio Inova agency and pointed out that there is certainly room for cooperation and that the representatives of the Roman agency could transfer their experiences and good practices to colleagues from Belgrade. An agreement was reached regarding cooperation on European projects, in the form of a consortium, related to projects on the territory of the Belgrade and Lazio regions.

Mr. Vučeljić introduced the representatives of Lacio Inova to the large infrastructure projects on the territory of Belgrade, especially the construction of "Belgrade on the Water", which represents an exceptional development opportunity for the entire country.

Representatives of RAREI also met with representatives of the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), which is also the contact organization for the EU program Horizon 2020 (Horizon 2020). In the conversation with Mrs. Diasina di Maggio, the representatives of RAREI learned about the work of this agency and gained valuable experience that can be applied in the Belgrade region. Namely, the APRE agency cooperates, in addition to the Ministry of Education and Research, in a partnership relationship with all the largest actors of economic, educational, cultural, research capital in Italy. For over 25 years, they have been providing their partners with technical and institutional support in applying for and activities related to European funds and projects.
