As part of the [[nt]]CAMPUS[[/nt]] project, which is being implemented through the [[nt]]Interreg Europe[[/nt]]program, a best practice example from Serbia titled [[nt]]Policy Learning Platform[[/nt]] was presented on the [[nt]]„201:Go! Hackathon: Cybersecurity Innovation for Balkan SMEs“[[/nt]]. The Regional Development Agency and European Integration Belgrade is participating in the project as a [[nt]]Discovery Partner[[/nt]], with the goal of exchanging knowledge and best practices in the field of digitalization and improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The presented best practice example was developed by HUB201, a national and regional innovation center for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence based in the Cyber District in Belgrade. It is an innovative model that uses a
Hackathon to connect the business sector, the startup community, academia, and public institutions to develop solutions for improving the cybersecurity of small and medium-sized enterprises. A total of 52 teams applied for the Hackathon , and 34 teams with over 90 participants were selected to take part. With the support of experienced cybersecurity mentors, participants developed innovative solutions for four specific challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises in the Western Balkans region face daily.
The unique value of this model lies in the fact that the top-ranked teams continue to develop their ideas through the Hackathon[[/nt]] is not just a one-off event, but the beginning of a process leading to the development of concrete products and services aimed at improving the cybersecurity of small and medium-sized enterprises.
By presenting this example of good practice on the [[nt]]Policy Learning Platform[[/nt]] of the [[nt]]Interreg Europe[[/nt]] program, it has been made accessible to a wider network of European regions and organizations interested in exchanging experiences in the field of digital transformation and cybersecurity for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The example of good practice is available on the [[nt]]Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform[[/nt]], as part of the [[nt]]CAMPUS[[/nt]] project.
