President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Mayor of Belgrade Siniša Mali addressed today the participants of the "Belgrade Investment Days" forum, which officially started a unique business and economic gathering that brought together more than three hundred investors from twenty countries.
The development of the entrepreneurial spirit and investments in small and medium-sized enterprises are priorities in the coming period, and when that sector rises, the results will also be better, the prime minister told everyone.
we can tell foreign investors that we will try to provide them with full legal and economic security for investments. We will try to improve the business environment, and I am convinced that Serbia will be able to preserve full internal stability and that it will contribute to stability in the region, which is of great importance for the progress of all our economies, the survival of investments and the arrival of new investors - said Vučić.
The Mayor of Belgrade Siniša Mali pointed out that the large number of participants at the forum proves that Belgrade and Serbia have become a good and attractive place for investments. The results of fiscal consolidation and successes in that field enabled concrete projects aimed at two goals - increasing the rate of economic growth and creating new jobs, Siniša Mali pointed out, and added that if these two goals are achieved, the result will be a better quality of life and living standards of citizens.
Siniša Mali specified that the City of Belgrade has prepared more than sixty projects worth over ten billion euros for the forum. They are divided into three groups as three pillars of development for strengthening the economy of the capital - infrastructure projects, direct investments and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Among those projects are the waste management project, the construction of sixteen underground garages, then new kindergartens, a new bus station, the privatization of PKB, but also "Belgrade on the water" and free and economic zones.
- By strengthening Belgrade's economy, we also strengthen the entire country. The goal of all projects is to invest in Belgrade and Serbia, and we, on the other hand, will try to be good hosts and give all necessary permits and approvals on time so that investors can start business here as soon as possible - said Siniša Mali.
The mayor emphasized that, if last year was a year of business consolidation, this and the next should be years of investment and realization of new projects.
President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce Milivoje Miletić stated that holding this forum is very important because it is necessary to emphasize the need for entrepreneurial spirit, morality and everything that should contribute to further growth and progress.
- We do not look at investments as an influx of funds to increase the number of jobs, but as a function of increasing the competitiveness of our economy and innovation. This is not possible without the strategic partnership of the state, science and business - Miletić pointed out.
President of the Central European Forum for Development, Ana Bovan, emphasized that cooperation of this type is very important, and that this is how significant steps forward are made. For this forum, she added, municipal and city projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure and tourism have been prepared, and Serbia has very attractive projects to offer for all those interested.
