The way to the EU fund COSME is open to companies in Serbia

Organized by the Belgrade Regional Agency for Development and European Integration and the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce. On December 9, 2015, at the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, the promotion of the European program for small and medium enterprises KOZME was held for representatives of clusters, business associations and municipalities from the territory of the Belgrade region.

The promotion was opened by the director of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREI), Snežana Radinović and the executive director of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (PKB), Svetozar Krstić.

Director of RAREI, Snežana Radinović emphasized the importance of the COSME program for the development of the Belgrade region, as well as the readiness of the Agency to help all interested participants to apply.

At the presentation of the program, it was pointed out that COSME lasts from 2014 to 2020 and has a budget of 2.3 billion euros. These funds are only the basis of the guarantee scheme, which also includes commercial banks with their sources of financing, so it is expected that, in the next five years, in this way, a total of 21 billion euros will be injected into 330,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and that over a million new jobs will be created. entrepreneurs who could not get commercial loans, said the coordinator for the COSME program in Serbia at the Ministry of Economy, Milica Zatezalo. She stated that Serbia was included in the COSME program, which is implemented by the European Commission through the European Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises and the European Investment Fund, as the sixth country outside the European Union, and added that Serbia waited two years to become a member of COSME.

Marko Kovačeviće from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, presented the importance of the European entrepreneurship network for finding partners who are a key element for using the program. Namely, Serbian small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs, who want to apply for these funds, will be able to do so exclusively through their business and professional associations, clusters, associations or organizations, because the bank will only send open invitations to their addresses. Therefore, the European network is the best tool for successfully finding partners, but also an excellent opportunity to look at the possibilities of potential partners as well as rivals in the competition for COSME funds.

Ljiljana Marković and Nikola Vujinović from the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade announced workshops on the program and how to apply, which will be conducted for the Belgrade region by the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade. Mrs. Marković also pointed to RAREI's positive experiences in relation to EU funds, while Nikola Vujinović presented to the audience some characteristic parts of project preparation for COSME and pointed out the great importance of timely preparation and cooperation of all interested parties with RAREI.
