Women's entrepreneurship, business internationalization, and strengthening the export potential of small and medium-sized enterprises were the focus of the project presentation [[nt]]WOMEX – The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs[[/nt]], which was held on June 10, 2026, at the premises of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREI Belgrade), as part of a meeting of representatives of regional development agencies from Serbia.
The project was presented by Ljiljana Marković, a member of the RAREI Belgrade project team, who informed the participants about the project's objectives, the partners involved in its implementation, and the activities being carried out to strengthen the competitiveness of women-led small and medium-sized enterprises, with a special focus on internationalization and export.
During the presentation, the project's results to date, activities implemented in Serbia, and the importance of data collection and analysis of obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs when entering international markets were presented. Special attention was given to the exchange of experiences and best practices between partner regions from various European countries, as well as identifying measures that can contribute to improving existing support policies.
The [[nt]]WOMEX[[/nt]] project is being implemented within the framework of the [[nt]]Interreg Europe[[/nt]] program, which supports interregional cooperation and the exchange of experiences among European regions with the aim of improving public policies and regional development instruments.
