Partner meeting and international workshop of the ISTER project was held

In the period from July 4 to 6, 2022, a transnational workshop and partner meeting of the ISTER project was held in Carnuntum, Austria.

The representative of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration (RAREI) Belgrade participated in this event.

The international project ISTER connects the Danube region by creating a new VIA ISTER eco-cultural route based on the Roman cultural heritage and reviving the ancient network of Roman roads and settlements along the Danube.

Representatives of the Carnuntum Archaeological Park, hosts and organizers of the transnational workshop and meeting, during their stay in Carnuntum informed the attendees of their results in terms of preserving and promoting the local Roman cultural heritage. Workshop participants had the opportunity to visit the Carnuntum Museum and several Roman sites of the Carnuntum Archaeological Park and its surroundings, which will be found on the route of the VIA ISTER eco-cultural route.

During the ISTER partner meeting, the results of the ISTER project so far were summarized and the goals and plans for the next period were defined - further improvement of the virtual VIA ISTER Atlas of Roman roads and settlements along the Danube, as well as the VIA ISTER application, which will be available to everyone who wants to to become familiar with the rich Roman heritage of the Danube region. By placing mileposts - Roman road signs, in the coming months the VIA ISTER route will be marked along the Danube, from its source to the mouth.
