Representatives of the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREI Belgrade) and the InnoSchool project team held an online event called "InnoSchool days" on March 25, 2021.
During the event, the preliminary results of the recently completed pilot phase of the InnoSchool innovative Learning Program on Social Entrepreneurship (ILS) in ten Belgrade high schools and its impact on the knowledge and skills of high school students in the field of entrepreneurship were presented. The program was developed to encourage social innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among high school students and promotes experiential learning through a combination of classical teaching and the application of digital tools - an online serious game, which integrates interaction with social networks, as well as interschool competition. Before starting the implementation of the Program and mastering the educational content, students and teachers chose whether to play the game at a basic or advanced level. The difference between the two learning levels is that the advanced level includes an additional educational unit during which student teams, under the guidance of a teacher-mentor, create a detailed business plan of their socio-business idea developed while playing the InnoSchool game.
The interschool competition is also the final step in the piloting of the Program at an advanced level, and it was held on the same day as the online event in which ten student teams from five high schools took part.
By the decision of the expert jury, the titles of the best went to: 1st place - team "DuSaNa" from the Fifth Economic School "Rakovica", 2nd place - team "DDK" from the Sixth Belgrade High School, while 3rd place was shared by the teams "Young Entrepreneurs" from the High School "Sveti Sava" and "Team 2" from the School of Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.
The best student teams at the elementary level were determined based on results achieved in the game during the piloting of the ILS Program: 1st place - team "Pohovani golub" Technical School, Železnik, 2nd place - team "Smokvice" from the Trade School and 3rd place - team "Fishermen" from the Technical School, Železnik.
After the presentation of the winning teams, representatives of the InnoSchool project team thanked all participants in the pilot phase of the Program, as well as the members of the Advisory Group, for working together contributed to the promotion of social entrepreneurship as a way achieving positive changes while solving key problems in society and encouraging an innovative way of education that combines learning with fun through playing an online game and developing successful socio-business initiatives.
