
Representatives of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Shinichiro Kato, permanent JICA coordinator and Sonja Skarep, JICA collaborator on the project, together with Ana Žegarac from the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) visited today the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RAREI Belgrade). about the activities of the new JICA project in the Balkans, as well as for JICA representatives to become familiar with the functioning of regional agencies in Serbia.
Snežana Radinović, director of RAREI Belgrade, presented to Mr. Shinichiro Kato the way of organization and key activities implemented by RAREI Belgrade. She emphasized that RAREI Belgrade represents the key bearer of the development processes of the city of Belgrade as a European region, and that, through the implementation of support programs, it provides strong support for the development of the MSME sector at the level of the Belgrade region. RAREI Belgrade has been involved in the implementation of the mentoring service since the very beginning of the implementation of the JICA program in Serbia, and to date more than 350 users have used the mentoring service, said the director of RAREI Belgrade Snežana Radinović.
Ana Žegarac from RAS emphasized that accredited regional development agencies represent a significant institutional infrastructure that makes a great contribution to the high-quality realization of programs supporting the MSME sector, especially mentoring services. The evaluations that were done in the previous period showed a great contribution of mentoring in improving the business performance of the companies using the mentoring service, pointed out Ana Žegarac.
