
ISTER project and experiences during implementation were presented during the training "Cultural and natural heritage as a resource for sustainable tourism" realized within the project PRONACUL, on December 7, 2022 in Kopaonik, organized by the municipality of Raška and the Center for Urban Development from Belgrade.
The PRONACUL project is an international project that is implemented within the Interreg ADRION program and aims to promote natural and cultural heritage for the development of sustainable tourism in protected areas.
During the training, the participants from regional institutions dealing with the promotion and preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Raška district were presented with cultural monuments from the territory of Raška and Novi Pazar, value and the importance of protecting cultural heritage and preserving natural heritage, while Marija Janjić, project manager ISTER for Serbia, presented experiences from the implementation of this project and its activities, which can serve as a good example for future programs implemented in this area.
International project ISTER aims to rediscover and restore the ancient network of Roman roads and settlements along the Danube region. ISTER promotes this network of roads and settlements as an opportunity to strengthen the territorial competitiveness and sustainable growth of the Danube region through the creation of a new VIA ISTER eco-cultural route - Roads of the Romans down the Danube!
