#EURegionsWeek - Online workshop "Cultural heritage, cohesion policies and societal well-being: a cycle of positive values"

We are pleased to invite you to join the online workshop "Cultural heritage, cohesion policies and the well-being of society: a cycle of positive values" which takes place on October 13, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities - #EURegionsWeek 2021.

The workshop considers the contribution of cultural heritage to local development and the well-being of society, drawing on the rich experience of the participants: HERIWELL Consortium and ESPON EGTC, URBASOFIA and the project "Cultural Heritage in Action" (Cultural Heritage in Action) which is also financed by EU funds.

Workshop topics:

• Challenges of harmonizing public policies in the domain of cultural heritage, with the aim of territorial development and the welfare of society.
• Presentation of concrete examples and case studies: cultural heritage as a catalyst for competitiveness, sustainable development and a function for the welfare of society.
• Contribution of EU funds to increased use potential of cultural heritage for the development of society and territorial development.
• Multidisciplinary dialogue of cultural heritage experts, state institutions and representatives of civil society organizations.

Agenda:

• Introduction - objectives and structure of the workshop (Europa Nostra),
• Defining the theoretical basis: key concepts,
• Contribution of cohesion policy in relying on the development potential of cultural heritage,
• The link between cultural heritage and the welfare of society - two examples from practice:

• ISTER project ConnectIng historical Danube rEgions Roman routes
• Rediscovering the Antonine Wall

• Next steps: recommendations for public policy measures.
