Allocation of grants for on-the-job training to unemployed Roma and business entities

The City Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Belgrade announced a public call for submission of applications to unemployed Roma and business entities for the award of grants for workplace training within the project "EU Support for Roma Employment". The public call was implemented on the basis of the signed Agreement on the use of grants for the implementation of on-the-job training for members of the Roma minority in the territory of the City of Belgrade, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services.

Grants for on-the-job training are intended for unemployed persons of Roma nationality to acquire additional knowledge and skills for certain occupations with the aim of improving employment opportunities through training in a real working environment within economic entities. The training program is intended for a maximum of 50 Roma participants. The public call lasts until the intended funds for this purpose are spent, i.e. until the anticipated number of participants is met.

Unemployed persons as applicants go through intensive counseling with the employees of the City Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Belgrade, in accordance with the work activation procedure that serves to complete the profile of the unemployed person in order to better assess the necessary training and better access to the labor market. During individual interviews, an individual activation plan is drawn up for each unemployed person. The selection of a specific training program is made through a matching process, which means that the user's characteristics, as well as the difficulties he faces, are compared with the characteristics of available training programs for certain professions.

The program involves the implementation of training for a minimum duration of one month (minimum 100 hours of training) and a maximum duration of three months (minimum 300 hours of training). The subsidy to the business entity per training participant amounts from 20,000 to 60,000 dinars, depending on the length of the training.

An unemployed person of Roma nationality has the right to financial assistance for the duration of the training in the amount of 60 percent of the minimum wage established in January 2015, i.e. 12,778.00 dinars per month, which will also be the basis for payment of insurance in case of work injury and occupational disease in the amount of two percent.
