Grants for Roma self-employment

The City Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Belgrade (www. gradskicentar.rs) in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has issued a public call for unemployed Roma people to receive grants for self-employment within the project "EU support for Roma employment". own business organized by the City Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The training is intended for a maximum of one hundred potential entrepreneurs. Regular attendance and successfully completed training is a prerequisite for selection into a wider group of candidates for the awarding of grants for self-employment.

Grants for self-employment in equipment are awarded to a maximum of 50 unemployed persons of Roma nationality with the best business plans, in the amount of up to 3,400 euros, for starting a business, that is, establishing a shop or other form of entrepreneurship, as well as establishing a company if the founder establishes an employment relationship in it. it is stated in the announcement of the City Center for Entrepreneurship. An unemployed person who realizes the right to grants is obliged to carry out a registered activity for at least 12 months.

The right to grant grants can also be realized by joining together several unemployed people for self-employment, in which case each person individually submits an application for self-employment. The granting of grants in cases of association can be approved for a maximum of two co-owners in service activities, i.e. up to five co-owners in production activities.

The right to self-employment grants cannot be exercised by the unemployed if they want to carry out activities in the field of coal mining, games of chance, gambling and betting, taxi transport and exchange offices, for the registration of individual agricultural holdings, cooperatives, associations of citizens and social organizations, if has not fulfilled the obligation towards the Republic of Serbia or the City of Belgrade for three years and if on the day of submitting the application the person is employed, i.e. registered in the register of business entities maintained by the Agency for Business Registers or another authority.

The public call lasts from January 12 to February 6. During its duration, the unemployed person can submit an application only once. A maximum of two members of the same family household can submit an application for training, i.e. an application with a business plan.
