FREE MENTORING SERVICE FOR THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SECTOR

Extended deadline for applications until June 10, 2020

BELGRADE - May 18, 2020 - After declaring a state of emergency, the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) extended the duration of the Public Call for participation in the Program for providing standardized mentoring services to sectors of the processing industry, which is part of the RAS and JICA program "Establishment and promotion of mentoring services for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Western Balkanu-phase 2", until June 10, 2020.

The goal of this program is to improve the business environment and support the smooth development of micro, small, medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs (MSMEs) that operate within the processing industry sector grouped into four areas, namely: machinery and equipment industry; food industry; wood and furniture industry and rubber and plastic industry.

The public call will be open until June 10, the total budget is 3,500,000.00 dinars, and the deadline for the completion of the standardized mentoring service is November 20, 2020.

The mentoring process takes place according to the methodology of the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), developed in long-term cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Mentoring is a free service, which can be used by micro, small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs (MSMEs), and interested users receive comprehensive support (lasting 25 to 50 hours) through an individual approach in the company itself. The owner and/or legal representative of the business entity and the mentor together study the current business, the reasons for current problems or obstacles to further development, the most important potential for growth, and based on the ascertained situation, the mentor and the user of the mentoring service develop and implement an action plan aimed at improving business results.

The mentoring service is provided by 70 certified mentors from 17 accredited regional development agencies.

The right to participate in the Program is available to MSMEs who meet the following conditions:
• that they are registered on the territory of the Republic of Serbia before February 2017;
• that they perform activities within one of the sectors of the processing industry grouped into four areas, namely: machinery and equipment industry; food industry; the wood and furniture industry and the rubber and plastic industry
• that they have settled their tax and contribution obligations;
• that they are majority privately owned;

So far, 2,500 users have used, expressed their satisfaction and assessed that the mentoring service helped them in their business.

Applications with all accompanying forms and documentation are submitted in person or by registered mail to accredited regional development agencies (ARRA) with the indication: Application for participation in the Program for providing standardized mentoring services to sectors of the processing industry.
