Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade, a partner in the project Adrisky - Advancing Light Pollution Mitigation for Biodiversity and Nocturnal Habitats Conservation in the Adriatic Ionian Region, presented the project on October 24, 2025 to the representatives of the City of Belgrade and city municipalities. The project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg IPA ADRION program, which aims to reduce light pollution and preserve biodiversity and nocturnal habitats in the Adriatic-Ionian area.
ADRISKY project brings together nine partners from three EU member states and three IPA countries, who jointly develop innovative strategies and practical tools for effective mitigation of light pollution pollution. The project emphasizes the importance of involving local and regional institutions in the planning and implementation of active policy measures, since it is the city and municipal administrations that play a key role in the implementation of policies that contribute to the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources.
One of the main results of the project is the creation of Territorial Action Plans - strategic and technical documents that contain concrete measures and recommendations for the permanent reduction of light pollution in seven pilot territories. With their adoption and implementation, local authorities will be able to provide effective protection of biodiversity and nocturnal habitats, contribute to sustainable urban development and raise the quality of life of citizens.
The participation of the institutions of the City of Belgrade in such initiatives represents an important step towards the creation of a more responsible and ecologically aware community, which actively contributes to the protection of the natural environment and the improvement of the quality of public policies in the field of sustainable development.
