WOMEX – The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs

Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RADEI) is implementing the project WOMEX – The Role of Women in the Competitiveness of Exporting SMEs, financed under the Interreg Europe.

The WOMEX project aims to foster a change in business culture across European regions, ensuring that the competitiveness and sustainable growth of export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises are intrinsically linked to equal opportunities for women who work in or lead these businesses. Partners from seven European regions are jointly working on sharing experiences, identifying good practices, and developing concrete tools to support women in export-oriented SMEs, as a response to the long-standing inequality in access to the benefits of international markets.

These measures, combined with advocacy initiatives, have the potential to bring about real change and positively influence socio-economic development and the improvement of business ecosystems in the long term.

In the previous period, the project team held a regional meeting with key stakeholders to present and discuss the project’s activities.

The lead partner has prepared the first draft of a questionnaire for the purpose of analyzing the situation of export-oriented enterprises managed or owned by women.

Members of the RADEI project team participated in the Kick-off Meeting held in Barcelona on October 8–9, 2025.

In addition to RADEI Belgrade, the Association of Business Women in Serbia is also a project partner.
